Albania NAMP Reunion

Mr. Patrick Buckley, the former Lockheed Martin Program Manager organized in Tirana the Albanian National Airspace Modernization Program reunion. This program, modernized totally the Albanian Airspace. The Program was financed by BNP Paribas and ExIm Bank. The decades-old equipment were decommissioned and new ATC infrastructure was implemented from 2004 to 2009. The traffic and revenues in the Albanian FIR increased around 10 times. TCN was privileged to be part of NAMP. Pat Buckley, the main promoter and mastermind of the whole program, played an exclusively important leadership role from the concept to the conclusion and was a key factor in the program success. Albania was lucky to have Lockheed Martin, #1 defense contractor in the world, as NAMP Prime Contractor The developments in the Albanian Airspace have continued also after the NAMP was completed, and today AlbControl is among the best ANSPs in the region. Most of the stakeholders of the program were present at the Reunion and enjoyed a very nice evening with excellent music at Galeria KALO.
